  • The list has to be in the form of a CSV file.

CUBED-3 Virtual Training Course

Description: The CUBED-3 asynchronous virtual training course, developed by LDG’s implementation and dissemination professionals, provides you with explicit instruction on the use, administration, and scoring of the CUBED-3 – an innovative, comprehensive family of literacy assessments that accurately, reliably, and efficiently measure all the critical dimensions of literacy: language, decoding and their product, reading comprehension. The course will cover all the subtests of the CUBED-3 which include the Narrative Language Measures (NLM) Listening and Reading, and the Dynamic Decoding Measures (DDM). You will also learn how the CUBED-3 fits into a multitiered system of language supports (MTSLS), understand how to select and when to administer specific measures, practice scoring language samples with REAL student videos, and interpret CUBED-3 results to inform instruction and intervention.

Length: 7 hours

Format: Seven cumulative hours of content is presented across 20 modules, with activities embedded within each video lesson.

Completion Certificate (CEU): Training certificates (7 CEU hours) are provided after completion of course modules and end-of-course assessment.

Access to the course lessons and materials (workbook, slides, videos) is available for 60 days.

Intro to Story Champs® Virtual Training Course

Description: In this live virtual training course, LDG’s implementation and dissemination professionals will provide explicit instruction for Story Champs® Language Intervention. This course will provide new or veteran Story Champs® users with essential knowledge in the basics of administration and rationales for why the program works.

This course will specifically cover the following topics:

  • Story Champs® program ingredients and organization of materials
  • How to select a lesson plan and story
  • Principles of effective instruction using Story Champs® large group, small group, and individual master lesson plans
  • How to use Add On lessons
  • How to differentiate instruction for diverse groups and modify lessons for individual students
  • Knowing when to change a lesson plan and story level

Audience: New or veteran Story Champs users who have never received training from Language Dynamics Group in the past.

Links to each recorded training session will be provided within 48 hours. Access will be available for 30 days from the date of last recording.

Certificates of training completion will be available for a total of 6 CEU hours.

Advanced Story Champs® Virtual Training Course

Description: This 6-hour live virtual training will provide attendees with knowledge of how to implement more advanced Story Champs® lessons, moving beyond basic and enhanced story structure. Attendees will be able to implement lessons that target complex language (i.e., causal and temporal subordinate clauses and modifiers), vocabulary, fictional generation, writing, and expository retells.

This course will specifically cover the following topics:

  • Selecting and using Story Champs® Add On lesson plans
  • Teaching complex academic language: Causal & temporal subordinate clauses and modifiers
  • Moving from Enhanced (Level B) to Enhanced Plus (Level c) story structure
  • Explicit and inferential vocabulary instruction (Spot the Sparkle game)
  • Teaching written personal and fictional narratives (i.e., text generation)
  • Assessing narrative writing using the CUBED-3 NLM FLOWCHART
  • Teaching information retell, information writing, and tier-3 vocabulary

Course prerequisites: Intro to Story Champs® course is recommended, but not required. Attendees should be fluent in the implementation of basic and enhanced story structure retell and personal generation lessons with high fidelity.

PEARL Virtual Training Course

Description: In this 6-hour live virtual training course, LDG’s implementation and dissemination professionals will provide explicit instruction in use of the PEARL, a cutting-edge kindergarten dyslexia and developmental language screener. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, get input on how to administer the PEARL, and practice scoring with real student videos.

This course will specifically cover the following topics:

  • Principles of dynamic assessment and how it differs from static assessments
  • Research behind PEARL (validity and reliability evidence) and how it can predict future reading and language difficulties with over 80% sensitivity and specificity
  • PEARL delivery timeline recommendations
  • Review of the 5 PEARL subtests: Dynamic Assessment of Decoding, Dynamic Assessment of Language, Rapid Automatized Naming, Nonword Repetition, and Orthographic Mapping & Phonemic Awareness
  • Understanding and scoring student responsiveness
  • PEARL assessment interpretation and intervention recommendations

DYMOND™ Virtual Training Course – COMING SOON

Description: In this live virtual training course, LDG’s implementation and dissemination professionals will provide explicit instruction in use of the DYMOND, a diagnostic assessment that accurately identifies language disorder and dyslexia for K-8th grade students. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, get input on how to administer the DYMOND, and practice scoring.

This course will specifically cover the following topics:

  • Principles of dynamic assessment and how it differs from static assessments
  • Research behind DYMOND (validity and reliability evidence) and how it can accurately identify reading and language disorders with 95% sensitivity and 91% specificity
  • DYMOND delivery timeline recommendations
  • Review of the 4 DYMOND subtests: Dynamic Assessment of Narrative Discourse (DAND), Dynamic Assessment of Inferential Word Learning (DAIWL), Dynamic Assessment of Decoding (DAD), and Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN)
  • Understanding and scoring student responsiveness

Live participants will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, get input, and practice. Our asynchronous courses provide active student responding and practice activities. All course registrants have access to LDG’s implementation support team, in addition to access to content for 30-60 calendar days.
